Seasonal Heat Load Outlook

March to May

The Bureau of Meteorology released the seasonal outlook today. Key points are:
  • It is likely to be hotter and drier than average across most of Australia
  • Rainfall is likely to be below average for the southern two-thirds of Australia, norther regions are expected to be average
  • Maximum daytime temperatures and minimum night time temperatures are expected to be above average for most regions
  • In regards to heat load these conditions indicate that while the temperatures will be above average for this time of year, humidity will be reduced as higher than normal surface pressures are predicted over western and southern Australia. This will limit the amount of rain bearing systems crossing the coast.
